Galambos conceived of a scientific approach to the study of human action and society that utilized the same method as the other natural sciences -- physics and biology -- not as a direct reduction to practice of those knowledge bases but based on appropriate observations in the social domain of phenomena. Jay S. Snelson coined the term "Volitional Science" to denote Galambos' approach, which he presented for FEI in Course V-50 over several years. Snelson actually developed course V-50, which Galambos once referred to as "Snelson's verson of Course 100."
